LEATHER GOODS PATTERN-MAKER

Main duties:

This position will be responsible for making accurate interpretations and translations of a design's intent through product specifications. You will be required to enter patterns, create and elaborate them using the program CAD Mozart in order to generate accurate production patterns & technical construction packs, technical drawings, pattern cutting, grading and lay-planning.

 The Role:

-To conceptualise, visualise and create virtual artwork from sketch and layout to final product;

-To support the creative design process post sketch review through pd handoff by executing and updating detailed tech packs and sample review forms;

-To develop pre-production and production patterns/specs; support the sample development process and ensure seasonal deadlines are met;

-To facilitate sample reviews with design, merchandising, and production partners;

-To assist in analysis and leather goods specifications;  

-To create 2D virtual patterns using pattern making CAD Mozart software;

-To capture fit comments in design program records;

-To advise on material, design and fit sew sample leather

-To complete specification packages, including illustration, flat sketch with measurements, fabric, construction details, sewing instructions, trim sheet, and special applications;

-To analyse the quality and pattern of different types and qualities of leather ensuring that products are developed in a manner consistent with established standards;

-To support spec, construction and fit intent on all samples

-To identify potential production, quality and costing issues and make recommendations to ensure brand integrity

-To establish sizing and grading and supervise the making of samples, pattern making/factory pattern adjustments;

-To ensure fit analysis, specifications and detail construction reviews;

-To ensure that appropriate fit and grading is in place;

-To measure proto, fit, and top samples to evaluate their adherence to target specifications;

-To assist in the identification, validation, and resolution of product fit issues that arise in bulk production;

-To execute design intent into bulk production while maintaining high-quality standards. 

The Candidate:

-Fluent in Italian (written & spoken) is essential;

-Excellent ability to use Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat Professional and CAD with emphasis on Mozart system;

-Must have experience in technical design, pattern making, fitting, and specs;

-Must be able to perform efficiently in a high pressure, fast-paced environment;

-Understanding of product engineering and manufacturing processes;

-Strong organizational skills and attention to details;

-Ability to interact with others and resolve conflict within various levels of the organization;
